Garden planning~

Still have a while until it's spring here in #zone3, but seed starting isn't far off now. Time to get organized!

@bushhag We are gardening in #Zone4b I am in awe of your garden planning system. And your big cabbage seed collection. What’s your idea if you get 150 cabbages this season.

@Pollinators Thanks! I try to stay organized so I can keep on top of things.

I won't be growing quite that many but probably close to 50. Many will be kept in storage to eat over winter, some turned into sauerkraut and kimchi. I sold/bartered some last year which I imagine I'll be doing again.

@bushhag Thank you for sharing. 50 is many. We haven’t found the successful combination for raising good cabbages. However. We have very successful cabbage moth seasons. The kohlrabi is successful every year. So we grow that and bok choi for #Kimchi and a replacement for fresh cabbage in cooking.
@Pollinators ohhh yeah, cabbage moths are a pain. I also have a big flea beetle problem, if I don't grow all my brassicas under row cover I'm just feeding the bugs.
@bushhag Good afternoon. What is working for you for row covers.
@Pollinators I use floating row cover from Lee Valley. It doubles as a light frost barrier towards the end of the season too.
@bushhag The boards and the cloth fits well together to keep the cloth in. That is a very nice garden set up. It’s a nice photo of green. Thank you for the photo. It’s worth a thousand words.
