I am in dire need of a horror audiobook or story podcast to fall into.

Any suggestions?

I love Agent Pendergast series, Isaac Thorne, Adam Nevill, Blood Crazy by Simon Clark, Brian Lumley, Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill, Robert Cormier, David Moody, Brom.

Any kind of American folk horror, too. Old Gods of Appalachia, etc.

Not big into the Kim Harrison type of occult witchy books, but I love occult witchy stories. Not really into romance stuff.

Please and thank you. My brain needs to run away for a while.

@KentuckyConjurer Morbid has a bunch of spooky episodes, particularly the Listener Tales episodes
@KentuckyConjurer I don't know how the audiobook is, but I just read The House Next Door by Anne Rivers Siddons and it was one of the scariest books I've read in a long time. It's an older book and you can tell it was written by a romance novelist but it isn't a romance, and it isn't jump-off-your-seat scary but it's horrifying.

@Knitapeace

Thank you! I haven't read that before!

@KentuckyConjurer for podcasts I highly recommend The Big Loop, Janus Descending, The Deca Tapes, Station Blue, at least Season 3 of Archive 81 (all of it is good but s3 is stunning), Rose Drive, S1 of Point Mystic, and The White Vault

@wilsonlives

Thank you! I haven't listened to any of those before!

@KentuckyConjurer yesss! I adore the medium and there's been some really creative horror audio drama

@wilsonlives

I agree! I'm at work all day in my own office so I can listen to whatever I want. There are so many fantastic audio dramas and it's hard to figure out which one to listen to first! I'm a huge fan of old radio dramas like Suspense, Witches Tales, and others. Here's one of my fav places to find old shows: https://www.awakeatmidnight.com/31-scariest-otr/

@KentuckyConjurer that's so nice! I was so happy being able to listen to whatever I wanted. got so much audio drama listening done then. Not horror, but Wolf 359 is one of the best things you can put in your ears. And ooh thank you for this resource! I grew up on a bunch of old ones!
@KentuckyConjurer If you don't mind short stories - the sha'daa series has a couple that are in audio (including at least two I have stories in so I'm biased). Sort of twilight zone-esque
@KentuckyConjurer
There's always something good in the NoSleep Podcast! I found it most enjoyable to just skip around and they have a tonnnn of content pulled together. I've already seen a couple mentioned here that I need to check out lol

@strange_aeons

Thank you!! I started NoSleep from the beginning and I'm somewhere in the first 1/2.
