Confirmation bias—the idea that we tend to accept information unquestioningly when it reinforces some predisposition we have or some existing belief or attitude and reject information that conflicts with our existing beliefs—is innate to humans and piggies! If we hear a noise from above, we will ignore that we are also seeing our glorious human at the same time. We assume that there is a hawk and we hide.
