@Tbaker new brakes. Learned how to bleed brakes and run an internal cable. Placed rotors, reset the air fork, new grips and pedals.
It was a great adventure. Put 25 miles on her yesterday in a bid to remove all energy from my body, and it almost worked!
My business partner just got a new bike with hydraulic brakes. First encounter with them on a bike for me. Really nice.
@Tbaker oh yeah. The stopping power is amazing. Two fingers is enough to bring me to a screeching halt.

Took my Surly Crosscheck with rim brakes out on gravel roads in West Virginia a few months ago - thought I had plenty of stopping power, but loosing 1,000 feet of altitude in a few miles, I had to rest frequently because my hands hurt from braking so much.
