know whats weird?
continental breakfasts.
before the plague, I used to travel about once every 6 weeks for conferencing. phobos doesnt have sales or marketing people, so to get the word out its me going to conferences and presenting. I'd find hotels with 'breakfast available' but it was always pretty lame. cheapest possible stuff, left out, stale. bleh.

but i've been lucky enough to speak at cons in the uk and europe, and every time i go across the pond for work and the con pays for the hotel, i end up in a hotel that comes with breakfast and its ALWAYS GLORIOUS. it makes me wonder why hotels in the states dont seem to give a shit about food quality or the enjoyment of their customers. It's not like it was 3 star michellin breakfast - but it was food that 'someone cared just enough about'. which i guess is something the US doesn't do at all.

@Viss Yeah, the main reason I usually order in a pizza the first night at a US hotel...so I have cold pizza breakfasts available when I cannot get something better elsewhere. 😅​
