Among the many admirable things about #Jimmy Carter is the fact that after being diagnosed with cancer a while back, he said, "I'm going to follow the prescribed treatment and hope for a good outcome," instead of "I'M GOING TO FIGHT THIS!"

I think this is good because statements about "fighting" this or that disease imply that people who don't "beat the disease" are weak or lazy.
