No one likes paying the outrageous fees that corporations tack on to concert tickets and cable bills.

That’s why 80% of Democrats, 72% of Republications, 70% of Independents want Congress to take on junk fees.

@rbreich Where do the folks in East Palestine, Ohio show up in these charts?
@rbreich They could take a huge stride by simply requiring the up-front advertised price of everything to include all fees. Should include all taxes, too.
@JetForMe @rbreich how about if people just stopped buying the damn tickets for a year or two? Do you think they would get the message?
@UncleCharlie @rbreich Yeah that won’t happen.
@JetForMe @rbreich isn’t that a shame?
@UncleCharlie @rbreich indeed. But the price has converged at a point people are willing to pay, despite feeling bad about it. My proposition takes away the psychological manipulation, and will likely force prices downward.
@rbreich Oooo big tough everyone taking on Concert Ticket Venues. Yawn. Easy target. Take on stuff that matters please.
@rbreich All #Ticketmaster / #LiveNation have to do is drop a few million dollars into #Republican coffers to make the whole problem evaporate.
@rbreich Too bad that congress won't do anything about it. Live Nation just has to make a paltry investment to ease their worries.
@rbreich Congress will not act because no one is paying attention.
@rbreich how about the extras that are tacked onto hotels/motels?
@rbreich And how about the new "surcharges" being tacked onto restaurant bills. I don't see them on small local places which could probably best justify them, but I went out to a high end white-tablecloth place for a birthday and got zapped with an extra $15 charge on top of non-negotiable 20% tip on a nearly $450 bill. That was one place that LEAST needed the "surcharge" ... sigh.
