I am France in my 1st game of "Here I Stand". I just fought the English fleet in the North Sea and won... twice. And I just destroyed the HRE's attempt to leave port in the Gulf of Lyon.

I know my luck is about to run out... so I am writing this on Mastodon for posterity.

My next update will be: "Edinburgh has fallen. Bordeaux captured. My ships sunk."

It's already begun.

Bordeaux captured.

The English came at me again. Two squadrons. I intercepted… just enough at 9.

Zero hits!

Defender wins ties and Henry is repelled and his fleet retreats back to London… for the third time!

I have wasted so many of England’s CPs now, I’m starting to feel bad.

I have made a pact with the devil.

I betrayed my Scottish brethren to the English so that I could get safe passage for the ship in the North Sea down to the Bay of Biscay to fight the Hapsburgs.

I have taken back Bordeaux, but Edinburgh has fallen into English hands.

The shame and guilt is immense.

Heading into T5 as France in my first game of HiS now. (It's been 4 weeks).

After I took back Bordeaux from the Hapsburgs, (with a strong alliance from the Ottoman Empire), I laid siege to and captured Barthelona (spelt the way its pronounced).

Hapsburg has sued for peace.

I am no longer at war with anyone... but fear England's home card, as Edward is alive. But if Henry decides to start shit, I'll be ready.

@dragonsinthedark Nothing like one's own hobby to provide one with a sense of shame and immense guilt :)

Scotland in HIS - that is ok. In my limited experience with the game, it is difficult to protect Scotland while being France. France is not an easy country to rule :)

@RyTo oh I know. I’ve been told the auld alliance is meant to be short. But England was rolling so badly I technically could’ve stayed to keep Edinburgh out of his hands for another turn… but alas, the HRE pressure was too intense.
