@dungeons Is there any reason not to just assume that we have a long rest and auto-restore hp and hit dice when we return to town? I mean, seems like we're only going to return to town for that reason, spending time having an actual vote on it seems a bit pointless. It's not like time passing in-game makes any actual difference.

@VoxDei @dungeons game time could matter for mechanics in the future, but you're right that it doesn't currently.

However, having it in town and needing to choose to rest provides an IRL time penalty for going to town in a similar fashion where going to town in game is going to waste more time than staying out and adventuring. This provides a small amount of immersion as well as a benefit for choosing to short rest as an intentional option
