@davepell @gruber As much as I’m tempted to say, just start a corner of Mastodon that discusses live events like this, I’m also sensitive that the timeline moves a little slower here. So a sudden uptick of posts will dramatically flood some timelines.

It would be temporary, but a bummer for users who haven’t figured out how to set up filters to mute it. And there’s no easy way to mute if hashtags aren’t consistently used, other than muting individual users like whack a mole.
