I won't beat around the bush when it comes to misuse of idioms. Sorry to rain on your parade, but I shan't let sleeping dogs lie.
@Stoned_Deva_ You might be barking up the wrong tree. The dogs are going on a wild goose chase and the cat is out of the bag.
@MissPixiePancake @Stoned_Deva_ Exactly. Get it right people. It’s not rocket salad.
@Stoned_Deva_ I mentioned the other day - " We'll burn that bridge when we get there."
@Stoned_Deva_
My daughter uses sleeping dogs as pillows. What an idiom.
@Stoned_Deva_ it is what it is - you do you.
@Stoned_Deva_ It’s good to see you grabbing the bull by the horns of a dilemma.

@Stoned_Deva_

One I have never heard before or since was one used by Capt Mathews who taught me latin when I was about 11 (and who was not entitled to use the honorary rank of Captain as he was ex-army not ex Navy; officers of the rank of Major and above are entitled to use their honorary rank upon retirement but Captain is one rank below Major and thus it's use is not permitted as an honorary rank in civvie street). When we were not reaching his fairly high standards, he used to say
"Come off the grass, laddies" - I was never quite sure what that meant but he used to say it a lot.

@Stoned_Deva_ it is what it is, until it isn't.
@Stoned_Deva_ You really took the bull by the horns and ran with it
@Stoned_Deva_ Just don't rain on my cake, I'm not sure if I could take it.

@Stoned_Deva_

Clearly you march to the beat of your own drummer

@Stoned_Deva_ You're not a landscaper. People should pay, if they want you to beat around bushes.
