Lately I've been seeing articles about how medical science is figuring out what actually happens to women's bodies during menopause stages.

FINALLY, really?? Nobody fucking knew after all this time?! What year is it?

I'll grant better later than never. Finally, ok.

However, the inherent misogyny and dismissal of women's health concerns while we've had Viagra for so long now infuriates me.

@TadBad people represent their own interests. There is little research on that topic because of the historic lack of female doctors.

No need to be infuriated but celebrate the diversity in medical approach. Medical science, like human morality, come from a very dark era, you can blame whoever you want or make it about gender if it pleases you, but it doesn't have to be about that:
We are here. Let's make a toast to more research on menopause so that our kids don't lose their moms prematurely.

@TadBad the most frustrating part is that the information about the menopause that’s out there is SO HARD to access and it shouldn’t have to be.

And the same f-ing viagra could have been used for menstrual cramps. But erection for men is of course more important than pain relief for women. /s

@TadBad when my wife was pregnant both times I asked about the causes and trigger of labour. They stared me down and said “No one knows.” I was shocked. Giving old dudes boners, quickly developing a vaccine for a pandemic sure but labour it’s a medical mystery…. So much facepalm.
