Rodrigo Araújo@jsnell @nickheer even though I agree with the banality of AI creativity, and their lack of intuition, shouldn’t we take into account the fact that we’re experiencing a step in a longer journey?
If it’s capable to do this sort of thing right now, won’t it improve? And if it does, shouldn’t we be discussing at least the attribution problems raised by artists being imitated by the art generative AI’s?
@rmaraujo l I would like you to ponder that not every post on social media is about every facet of an issue. Suggesting we are not taking things into account, and aren't discussing important issues -- when we are! but not in individual posts -- is not helpful. You can add to the discussion without framing it as a failure on the part of a post. It was a post linking to a story about a very specific aspect of a large, complex issue.

No, this is exactly backwards. Intuition is finding hidden connections that reason fails to identify. That’s what one of these models does, whether it’s a large language model or image diffusion: identify latent connections. That’s all it does. It has no reason, at all. Modern AI models are pure, unadulterated intuition.
