I agree completely with your take Ellie.
When I first started questioning I looked to internet forums and found myself at a couple of crossdressing sites.

I very quickly found I was not like them and they not like me. The typical crossdresser does not have any problem with their gender identity. They are non-trans men.

For a variety of reasons they enjoy women-coded clothing but of those reasons… not one of them is because they understand themselves to be a woman.
