Happy #BlackFriday y'all.

It's Super Bowl weekend. Please allow me to share the greatest halftime show ever, courtesy of Prince. Not only did he slay, he did it in a downpour, wearing a motherfucking do rag. I remember seeing a version somewhere with NFL guys talking about how insane this whole show was.

Everyone was freaked out about the rain because the stage was a very slick tile, Prince was playing with electric guitars, AND his back up dancers were in stilleto boots. Prince's reaction? "Can you make it rain harder?"

Damn.

@mellifera one of the greatest legends about that show: a couple of years before it happened, the Foo Fighters did a cover of "Darling Nikki" that Prince didn't approve. So when he played the Super Bowl, he covered "Best of You" by Foo Fighters and didn't tell anyone he was going to do it. Taylor Hawkins from FF was at a Super Bowl party at someone's house, drinking a beer during the halftime show, when one of his friends came running out yelling "DUDE PRINCE IS PLAYING YOUR SONG"

@mellifera With the lightning, striking in the opening moments and his fiery entrance, did we need more evidence that prince is a God? Not sure we did, but this proves beyond doubt.

@mellifera thank you. Prince was amazing from start to finish. The rain, the lightening, nothing stopped him from putting on an incredible show. Looking smoking hot the entire time.
