Evelyn Berezin designed the first computer-driven word processor. An expert in logic design & data transmission, she'd earlier designed a computer system for the American stock exchange, the first computerized banking system, and the first airline reservation system.

Frustrated by the sexism blocking her advancement, she founded her own tech startup, Redactron, in 1969, and brought her word processor to market in 1971.
