It feels a bit ghoulish to jump in on another server's closure but for those who need a new home now that mastodon.lol is shutting down, we still have plenty of room to grow on retro.pizza! We're a queer-run (but not queer-only) nerd culture instance with a small but healthy community and an admin who is very old and calloused by the Transformers Fandom Message Board Wars of the '00s.

@trixter please don't think it ghoulish to offer up suggested places for like-minded people, it was really scary this morning before i migrated because i had no idea where to go or how to do it.
it is maybe a mistake to assume "this instance is ok for LGBTQIA+, it is fine that cishet allies join" given there may not be much space
so yanno.. things got strange and confusing fast in the past 10 or so hours for us (now former) mastodon.lol'ers
@trixter yeah... we can only do so much to support him in his absence tho. I very much hope he is ok, or is being supported as he needs right now.
Most of us left to get outta there without him were taken by surprise by it all, and it was hard enough moving from The Bad Place to Mastodon without much instruction the first time.
I got too comfortable on mastodon.lol and it was very upsetting to learn all this happened this way.
Help migrating from within is so needed, especially right now.
