@marydavis This might be a case where hashtags are useful to get a wider audience. Hell if I know what hashtags mushroom mastodon uses though.

Try checking here or asking on /r/mycology on Reddit, and definitely include info about where you found it and what plants were near it

@marydavis I found similar mushrooms growing in a similar habitat, identified by iNaturalist community as "chip cherries".
