Possibly one of the worst and most bizzare nights in my life occurred last night. I'll try to be brief.
Last night I was unable to sleep until about 1 am. I have #YOPD and with that #Cataplexy and #Narcolepsy. A whole bag of crappy. 😹
So, at 1 am I experienced a #Cataplexic fit in which my eyes were open and I was in control of my breathing but nothing else. My head dropped and I experience what felt like a series of currents going through my body along with a spinning slow FPS visual—similar to the famous jockeye wheel of film history.

This occurred twice before I was able to rouse myself in an attempt to prevent further episodes I took a dose of Rytary (dopamine substitute).

After this I fell asleep again at about 1:45 and experienced a night terror from which I awoke. In this terror I stood at our front door waiting for my wife to come and see me as I screamed.

When I was finally awake my wife came downstairs where I slept in my recliner. She sat with me for awhile and then we noticed flashing blue and red lights outside. They lasted for about 15-20 minutes as we sat there, then left.

After they left I was able to get back to sleep for a short period of time during which I was again semi-conscious, slightly aware of my surrounding. I could see that the police had returned an hour later as I had continual associate terrors.

It was only when I heard the police officer yell "Put your hands up" after a chase on foot that I was really awake.

My wife came downstairs again. This time not because of me. We sat for about 30 minutes. The police were in our backyard. When we asked what was going on, they said they'd apprehended a man and were searching for something he'd dropped during the chase.

Nothing like this has ever happened before in our neighborhood. It was nearly 4:30 am before they cleared out. About a half hour after that I finally fell asleep without issue.

So, yeah. That's the story. The sheer volume of Catapletic and night terror episodes was enough to drive me to exhaustion and very visceral and raw fear. The issue with the police obviously exacerbated this.

So here's to a better today. 🥂 😹

@grryboy That sounds rough, weird and scary... Do you sometimes use this experiences to write horror?
@lfcorriveau I've never written in any direct way. I'm sure it may sometimes leak out of my brain. Perhaps that's a good outlet for me. Thanks for the idea Reves. 😊
