Advice for Mastodon newbies looking for engagement usually includes “follow more people.“ I’d agree with that but I’d also suggest talking to people you don’t already talk to. I still see a lot of self-siloing around here.

@mattmay An excellent idea which I can no longer take advantage of because I switched to an instance that’s exclusively populated by people I know. So I have to make an effort to get out.
