that's a bit weird. If your #Mastodon account lives on a busy instance or traffic is high, there can be a noticeable lag between hitting submit on your app or weblette and having your toot actually show up, even in your own feed.

Given that tooting and tweeting or reddit posting is like shouting into firehose of thousands of other people shouting into the void, its like anxiously waiting... did the internet take my toot? Did it pass through the #Eywa of the internet? Did it make the cut?

But that's one of the things I like about #Mastodon so far - because it takes time for toots to #propagate, it stomps out your compulsive refreshing and checking.

Though what we need is a self-throttle setting. "You've been tooting too much. No toots for 30 minutes. go outside, read a book" and you can't disable the setting, you delegate the setting to another user.
