Some Mastodon observations from my early experiences:

1. Like “old” Twitter
2. Replies are less frequent
3. Replies are less annoying
4. Fewer people get pop culture references here
5. Terrible for news or breaking news
6. Rarely infuriating
7. Still the best alternative as Twitter moves inexorably to the far right

@Jake_Vig the main thing I miss is that pretty much all of the organization accounts here are bots relating their posts from Twitter so people rarely reply to their posts because they know that there is zero chance they will get a reply.
