@stephaniepixie @craftykraken @itsburnsie it is read only, correct? If you posted it wouldn’t show up on our local feed for interaction purposes. Of course, if you reply to a post you see, that person will see your reply. I guess what I’m trying to get at is: there is still benefit to having accounts on various servers if you want your posts to be included in the Local feed itself, if you want to be part of the community.

@stephaniepixie @craftykraken @itsburnsie I also want to add a fun fact: every server has different moderation styles for things like local trending posts, trending hashtags, and server federation so what you ‘see’ on each instance as a user can be quite different.

This is part of what I love the most about Mastodon so wanted to add on :))

@britt @stephaniepixie @craftykraken I think this is why Mastodon excites me the most. Joining an instance feels like joining an actual "community".

Each instance has it's own focus, it's own vibe, it's own rules.
