Still trying to #FollowBack everyone after my recent #InstanceMigration , but I have a lot to do to catch up with everyone.

Thank you for your patience, and THANK YOU for staying with me through this process! ❤️

@AnneTheWriter1 I’m glad to note your position on Oxford commas.

@palmtree
Thanks!

One thing I often have to remind new writers (and myself😊) is to always have a good "hook." The first sentence should catch attention and get people to keep reading.

The #OxfordComma sentence seemed like both an accurate statement and a good "hook" for my profile.

@AnneTheWriter1 Indeed. I have written four short children’s book drafts, and I’m going back and forth with the decision to write them in the first-person or third. At least I have your advice for the first sentence!

@palmtree
Stop at the nearest library. Look at other books for the same age range and genre. Analyze what POV they tend to do the most (if they do have any kind of pattern, idk).

Generally, that's (1) what readers expect and what they understand best, and/or (2) what sells best.

@AnneTheWriter1 good advice. 😀
