Took the unicorn for a spin today. #Mixerology
It worked great.

This is a Hobart HL6. It was supposed to be a replacement for the N-50, but it failed to launch.

The prototypes and unsold production were sold to a liquidator who put them on eBay; I was lucky to get one.

I love it, but there are no service parts and no service manuals, so if it breaks, game over. This was its first outing; I won't use it too much or too heavily and hopefully it'll keep working for many years.

It uses the same #10 attachment hub as the N-50 and the KitchenAid mixers; so all of the attachments are compatible. Today I used the sifter/scale (probably my favorite of the hub-driven attachments).
@siegel did you make one batch or a doughble?
@steveriggins It was a single batch! But I froze half the dough.
@siegel I am so jealous. I’ve heard stories about that mixer, but never seen one—even in photos—before today.
