I did it! Finally got the KitchenAid Artisan repaired. After a decade the splint inside the worm gear unit was broken. 1,65 EUR for the spare part and 15 for the replacement grease.

If you‘ve never opened a KitchenAid mixer here are some pictures of the disgusting details. 😅

A little Saturday #mixerology: this machine was in pretty sad shape, with a broken planetary, broken speed control knob, and a piece of blue painter's tape with "GEAR STRIP" written on it applied to the top.

@siegel I had a #mixerology dream where I was on the phone with customer support and going through a diagnosis when I saw things slipping that should not be and thought “Shit. I should send this to Rich.”

Then the dream morphed to be a washing machine and I woke up confused.
