An advisory firm sued Twitter for about $1.9 million in what it says are unpaid bills after it advised the company on its $44 billion sale to Elon Musk. The lawsuit is the latest sign that Twitter stopped paying some service providers since Musk took over. https://t.co/6R7w96o8mL
When my partner and I sold an anti-spam company to another company, we got to the final steps and then our lawyers said, “Wait! There’s one more thing you have to do before we sign. Write us a check for our services.”
They understood very well that once the purchase went through, the buying company was responsible for payment. And the buying company has no relationship with the lawyers and no incentive to prioritize that payment.
Plus. Anyone who doesn’t insist on payment upfront from Musk is an idiot.
