Mastodon still isn’t really clicking for me. Not sure what it is exactly, but I’m still not really feeling drawn in to a community flow like I have with other network platforms in the past. Not sure if I should try different apps/interfaces to it? Also not sure if it’s Mastodon or if it’s me. Like have I grown and changed in ways that make these kinds of networks less central to how I operate.
@tjowens while I recognize it will always be a different feel than the others, Mastodon evolved for me when I started following any possible hashtag related to my interests. Then following (and sometimes quickly unfollowing) accounts that post interesting content using those hashtags. Suddenly I’m following
#librarians #BirdPhotography #archives #PunkRock #AndSoOn around the world
@tjowens In my experience mostly using social media on mobile apps, following
#hashtag topics on Mastodon is far superior to other platforms’ elasticity around finding subject matter of interest
