It’s amazing (and also kind of sad considering how long I’ve been on Twitter) how rapidly the time I spend in twitter has plummeted and the time I spend in Mastodon has rocketed!

I’ll hang around there still but it’s a weird feeling.

Absolutely loving Mastodon though - the community as a whole is so much better and more engaging much like twitter originally was.

Part of me wonders if/when news networks, celebrities etc and such create accounts, whether it would suffer the same with toxicity?

@keir same for me! It really feels like the early days on Twitter for sure. So much experimentation going on, but from users and from app developers :) Love it!
@zoltan yup! And a brighter future being decentralised and open!
@keir same! But I do fear it will face the same problems Twitter did if/once “everyone” is here and I don’t know what the solution is. How do you keep a place with millions of users pleasant for everyone? 🤷🏻
@omh yeah it’s a tough one :/ hopefully it’s decentralised nature may help a little somehow?
@keir ~4 days in and 100% agree - for a minute I didn’t know how I’d live without Twitter - barely check it now
@afrankvt weird isn’t it! 😄
@keir that’s precisely my worry. I think the more “pop” it becomes, the more dehumanizing also. It can probably be saved but requires a level of moderation that is not healthy either.
@webjac let’s hope it doesn’t become too mainstream!
