While there are other models for discussing technology integration in education, I still like to raise up SAMR from Dr. Rubin Puentedura when talking with teachers about the impact that appropriate tech tool use can have on teaching and learning. The only thing I disagree with though is "You have to be comfortable wading in the shallow end. . ." first. I believe this is not necessarily true. A teacher can facilitate a transformative activity using the teacher's subject expertise and students’ skill expertise without the teacher being an expert in the technology skills required. Students can teach each other tech skills and transfer skills learned from previous projects in other classes.
