The only thing I disagree with though is "You have to be comfortable wading in the shallow end. . ." first. I believe this is not necessarily true. A teacher can facilitate a transformative activity using the teacher's subject expertise and students’ skill expertise without the teacher being an expert in the technology skills required. Students can teach each other tech skills and transfer skills learned from previous projects in other classes.
