It's hard for folks outside the US to wrap our heads around guns being a right and healthcare being a privilege.
@jasongorman Is a complicated subject obviously. What is best for everyone seems to always take a backseat to corporate profits and the stock market. I've come to realize that all of us who can afford healthcare are already paying for those who show up at the ER and can't pay. Would be simpler if we changed to a system that openly takes that into account. I'm tired of getting screwed out of my deductible every year.
@jasongorman
It's hard for some of us inside the US, too.
@gdinwiddie @jasongorman is it really? From here it feels like one of the many ways white people in power want to disadvantage black people….
@YvesHanoulle Yves, what are you accusing me of?
@gdinwiddie you know very well this is not about you. Unfortunalty you are in in charge of your country...
@YvesHanoulle If only I had that power, I would share it more evenly. But I don't, and it's naive to think so.
@gdinwiddie Oh I'm not that na-yves, it was more a kind of hope...
And well the powers in your country make life harder for less privileged...
@gdinwiddie Not that similar problems don't exist in my country, but the dangers are bigger in yours I think...
@jasongorman Give the Tories a few more years. Y'all will catch on pretty quick.
@alanbirchenough Thankfully, they're finished for a generation.
@jasongorman If they are - and I fervently hope they are finished off before they completely sell off the NHS - let's also hope that Labour will not simply implement Tory Lite policies, as Starmer often seems intent on doing.
