@LunaRogue I've seen these used as a charger for... things. Things that need a cheap waterproof charging port where a tight rubber or silicone hole will seal up when the port is vacant.

@LunaRogue my first car had a car stereo with a USB port but without an aux one (which is a weird design decision tbh). I used one of those cables to listen to music from my phone whilst driving
