I'm excited to finally talk about some pretty cool stuff I've been working on for the last few weeks.

🧵 We've enhanced #HeyGitHub (@code AI voice assistant by @GitHubNext) with some new conversational capabilities.

🧠 With that change, #HeyGitHub can now answer general questions related to software development, generate and edit code, and control the editor while seamlessly following the conversation and understanding its context.

🛰️ Here are some more examples of those conversations' capabilities and ability to answer general questions - I'm thrilled that we can reduce the amount of context switching required in software development, especially for developers with issues with using a keyboard and mouse.

🤖 Additionally, while "active mode" (formerly known as "code mode") is active, you don't need to qualify editor actions with the "Hey GitHub" prefix anymore - AI will decide on its own based on the context whether the actions is a question, editor interaction or code generation.

🥳 I'm seriously proud of the work of the whole team involved with creating this (hopefully) magical user experience for our users.
