"I started to go to my local music store.. and man I was relentless... one of my old guitar players.. answered an ad and we had a band then it fell apart. But I just kept at it you know, I was just going from band to band, recording by myself, just doing whatever I could to get my name out there.

I finally found a real band.. we played some shows with Straight Line Stitch and when my band started to kind of disband, I sort of jumped.. So it’s just a big, long mess!"

Alexis made her first appearance on the bands second album "To Be Godlike". In 2007 they released their first video with her #Remission

They started opening for big names such as Slayer and Mastodon. And played Jägermeister and Vans Warped Tour

The band released its first national album When Skies Washed Ashore in 2008 with followup album The Fight of Our Lives in 2011.

This one reached #5 on Billboard Heatseekers and #34 on the top Independent Albums chart.

Straight Line Stitch believes in its fans

Straight Line Stitch frontwoman Alexis Brown says she feels the most important aspect of being in a band is talking to and hanging out with her fans.

The good times hit a speed bump in 2012. Guitarist Seth Thacker and drummer Kanky Lora stepped away from the band.

They picked up guitarist Kris Norris (A Cancerous Affair, Darkest Hour) and Ian Shuirr on drums. They also began the search for a new label.

“I think as a band we are looking forward mostly to just getting back to basics, and at the very heart of that is hitting the road and letting everyone know that Straight Line Stitch Is still going strong.”

Both members stayed for the 2012 tour before leaving. This was followed by more lineup changes. Guitarists Jackie Bergjans Andrew Mikhail and drummer Joey Nichols all had short runs before they finalized their lineup with Drummer Scott Haynes (Deadsun, Mindset Defect) and Guitarist Michael Gleeson
for 2015s Transparency.
