@Refoel @QasimRashid The most violent counties per person are all in the south, often rural. But you only look at absolute numbers of cities and not a per person breakdown which gives a wildly bad understanding of the numbers. Its like how welfare has only a 3% inefficiency rate which is mind-blowingly small for any institution but since its the welfare budget of the richest nation in the world the absolute number is mind-blowing. They also only talk about cities because you are more likely to think democrat and ignore the damage republicans are doing. Poverty in the south keeps their people less educated and easier to control and they have been doing that since jim crow. Then you have the issue that say Chicago has the strictest gun laws but is right next to Indiana with some of the most lax, so unless its implemented nation-wide it ain't going to work but the right just uses chicago as a reason why gun control doesn't work.

@Refoel You seem to not understand that gun laws need to be federal for meaningful enforcement. What are Dems supposed to do about illegal guns from out of state? Set up a checkpoint and lock down the city? There's a reason why red states have a 40% higher murder rate than blue states. It's b/c GOP refuses meaningful gun safety legislation. Let's pass federal legislation first, then talk about illegal guns in cities.
