Computer Parts have arrived. Time to build.
Empty case looking for serious hardware, watercoolers please abstain
Power supply is set! Although one of the screws is not fitting. How thoughtful of the manufacturer to give spares!

Two easy, simple steps:

1. Prepare the motherboard
2. The motherboard is prepared

Time to open the motherboard manual.

RAM is set.
See you on the other side old boy
Removing stuff around the CPU
Taking a break, but the radiator-fan (aka VentiRad™©® in French) is being set-up
Massive unit sitting on top
Now everything is (not) in place
No idea what I'm doing…
Current setup. I'm too afraid of the cat hairs accumulating on the ground to leave the desktop there
(Yes this André the cow sitting peacefully on our NAS)
@hecate so fun to build a computer. What OS are you putting on it?
@lbseale I was very anxious! This desktop is getting a Fedora, like most of the others :)
@hecate That looks about as good as any of my efforts. Better if anything, as I have infamously bad cable management.

@hecate so this may sound link a dumb question but a very common new builder mistake I see a lot is airflow direction.

So I thought it'd be an idea to ask what direction that CPU fan is working in. 'Cos if it's the wrong way round it'll create a void as it and the case exhaust are working against each other.

@kura Thank you for asking the dumb questions, I'm checking
@hecate cool. General rule of thumb - the air flows towards the side with the sticker that lists the fan voltage, amperage, etc. 🙂
@hecate is that a fanless water-cooled setup? I’ve never seen anything like this.
@nuttycom nope, there are fans all over, you can see one on the very right of the radiator
@hecate Ah, okay, the perspective deceived me, it looked like it was about a foot tall.
@nuttycom just compared, about half (of my) foot :p
@hecate Hah. Still pretty massive!
@nuttycom yeah it's a big baby! :)
