@jamesbfg I am taking, from the language used, that the original author is drawing a finer point; people who pay taxes for public healthcare are, in fact, better sexual partners (or at least 'decent' sexual partners).
I must agree. All possible interpretations are definitely correct.
Also the corollary: All selfish Fascists are dud roots. (Australianism for "very poor at intercourse")
Both are apropos
@jamesbfg @russellt The second-biggest problem is Americans pay up to 3X more for the same coverage as Canadians β and we have worse outcomes.
The biggest problem is that our most affordable form of healthcare is tied directly to employment. So if you lose your income, youβre forced to pay in extra with money you probably no longer have.
@scenario @jamesbfg @russellt and all justified because once in a blue moon some person gets access to world class medical treatment not available elsewhere that saves them. That's only possible because of the tens of millions being overcharged for procedures and treatment that is usually delivered at the last possible moment insurance can get away with delaying it to.
It's like having a nation where car maintenance is prohibited until your car has stopped on the freeway and caused a wreck.
@jamesbfg I'm an American and I get free health care (yes, Virginia, we exist!). I'm on Medicaid (which is for poor and disabled people), and I love not having to pay for meds or most of my healthcare needs. There are even dental needs of mine that are taken care of!
The only catch is that I have to have less than US$2000 in my bank account at all times...
Amricans: Decency has nothing to do with it!
when polled, most Americans (including Republicans) support universal health care. Our problem is the corruption of our media and politicians.
