@stano The liberals did not build out a think tank infrastructure because they already had /the/ think tank infrastructure --- the one the conservatives sought to emulate. Further to the left you see organizations but not a lot of funding (perhaps that has changed recently).

@stano the radical right's education/higher ed policy isn't a sudden thing either, but part of a long march through institutions --- so I don't think the meme fits. But it is useful to point out the radical right has become more vocal about how they would replace a democratic society centered on free expression with something else.
