SwiftOnSecurityNeed help for family media preservation: My parents have a bunch of 35mm negatives, plastic sheet covered albums of 4x6 Kodak prints, VHS, and MiniDV camcorder cassettes. Do you have experience and recommendation for preservation/digitalization services? A complex collection.
ajsnonsense@SwiftOnSecurity I see it's been mentioned a few times but I'll add that ScanCafe worked great for a bunch of 4 x 6 prints I inherited. They offer services for other media too, and seemed to actually respect the memories I was entrusting them with and were professional. I'd doing what I did and send in a smaller batch to make sure you're happy with it, then sending the rest (I admit I haven't done step 2 yet haha)
