well i tried dehydrating starter. will do a test resuscitation next week! #sourdough
@haruspex42
I used to do this but then grind the dried starter up and use in my next bake. No waste from discard! Haven’t tried ‘waking up’ the dehydrated starter though.
@sourdough2021 @haruspex42 I never got this discard thing. I just feed my starter, put 150g of it back to the fridge for next week and make bread out of the rest
@woffs @sourdough2021 ah your starter doesn’t need a feeding to wake up? or you just wind up using everything anyway?
@haruspex42 @sourdough2021 I just use all of it, feed it 2 times (waiting some hours until it raises), put 120~150g back into the fridge (not freezer) and fill the rest up with flour and water to 1kg Mischbrot, let it raise, and bake. I think the sourdough enthusiasts would kill me, but it works well for me. ☺️

If it works for you, fine! There are so many different techniques that seem to work. Use one that works for you and that you are familiar and happy with.
@sourdough2021 @haruspex42 honestly for it's just much easier 😆
@sourdough2021 @haruspex42 I mean, it's not called bread prog rock, but #breadpunk, and that's just what I'm doing 😂
