@thesiswhisperer @ResearchWhisperer help! I'm an academic getting a steady trickle of PhD application requests that are completely out of left field and I don't know how to triage or deal with them appropriately - any advice?
@coolrobbie @ResearchWhisperer There are some over seas programs that encourage people to cast the net wide - waaaay too wide. This is a situation perfect for a text expander sippet or some boiler plate text. Write a polite 'no', just cut and paste and send!
@thesiswhisperer @ResearchWhisperer Thanks heaps - seems wise!

Here's a short guide for supervisors about how to manage these approaches, from a project my colleague Jamie Burford (U of Warwick) was involved with: http://wrap.warwick.ac.uk/169425/1/WRAP-the-role-of-the-supervisor-in-pre-application-doctoral-communications-project-brief-2022.pdf

@tseenster @thesiswhisperer @ResearchWhisperer "supervisors delayed replying for at least a week due to e.g. levels of busyness or uncertainty about next actions." - feeling extremely seen by this.
