Mercedes Benz is the first US automaker approved for level 3 self driving, your hands don’t need to be on the steering wheel and you can play games while driving.

I expected automakers to catch Tesla on EV tech but shocked to see them surpassed so soon on self driving tech.

Mercedes-Benz said it was the first automaker to bring Level 3 automated driving to the US. The conditionally automated driving feature is now available to drivers in Nevada.

Bleak Future

@carnage4life @petrey I have been level 2 using #OpenPilot on a #Comma2 for a couple of years - there is a very bright future for the tech and I’m rarely ever surprised when #Mercedes raises the bar. The S class has always been the place you looked to see what tech and features the average car would have in a decade.
