What's the best TV with the following features?
* Low lag for gaming
* No / few smart features
* Many inputs (HDMI, and if possible: RGB/SCART)
Especially the TV should NOT interfere trying to "smart remote" my devices -- which are mainly retro consoles with HDMI scan converters... THERE IS NOTHING TO REMOTE CONTROL THERE!

@root42

It's funny you bring this up. The cost of modern TVs is actually subsidized by the inclusion of these smart features, the manufacturers get kickbacks for pre-loaded apps, and the sale of data collected by these built-in smart features.

Counter-intuitively, this means that it is often no cheaper to buy a brand new "dumb" TV, because your purchase is the only income stream for that device. In fact, without ordering it directly, you may have a hard time finding one on the store shelves.

@pinkunz @root42 to add to this, it would probably be best to buy a good (large) monitor with whatever features are important such as 120hz or frame rate syncing, etc… Of course, it will be more expensive.
@birch @pinkunz if it supports the weird upscaler resolutions of the Rad2x, OSSC etc…
