Episode 3 of The Last of Us was BEAUTIFUL and I love this version of Bill. Currently playing through the game again and I’m taken aback by the beauty of the show. It’s better than the game in every respect. 10/10.
@snazzyq ps5 version?
@snazzyq I just started the game for the first time after watching the show. It’s really good!
@snazzyq I'm loving the show, and I know everything is subjective, but so far I wouldn't say the show is better.
@ajww I wouldn’t have either except I just started replaying the game a few days ago and I’m shocked by how shallow it is. I think I had dreamt it up as being far more in-depth than it really has been.
@snazzyq @ajww I also remember the game as having a deep story, but that’s probably because you’re more invested in it since it’s interactive, and comparing it with the show makes you have a more “detached” point of view.
@snazzyq that's surprising to hear! I'm planning on replaying it soon, so we'll see if I dreamt it being more in-depth as well.
@snazzyq
This is one of the best episodes of TV I've seen, period. The writing, pacing, cinematography, and my gosh the acting by Offerman and Bartlett was beautiful. What I love is that the game's contrast of warm, lush visuals with this mood of dread and loss still underpins the show, but it's not holding it back from deviating. It's a hard balance to strike and they have aced it so far.
@snazzyq i was genuinely surprised by the depth given to Bill! Definitely a great change for the character and the story, im very curious to see what else they improve!
@snazzyq I’ve never played the game, but that was a beautiful episode. Fantastic filmmaking too.
@snazzyq I was not ready for that episode. Great on whoever makes the trailer to not spoil the whole purpose of the episode. Definitely thought we were going to get a Joel/Bill vs raiders/cordyceps at the compound episode and it turned out to be something totally different and so much better. This episode really showed the benefits of making this story into a tv show. You can branch off the main story without worrying about derailing the gameplay experience.
@snazzyq I'm waiting for a few more episodes to be released before I watch (sometimes I don't like waiting a week for an episode haha)! I'm tempted to get the PS5 version of LOU 1 just because of the show :)
@snazzyq Ep 3 was, in one word, beautiful. Hardly anything to do with the story so far. But a beautiful and heart-wrenching love story, gorgeously told. I’ll admit to being very emotional at the end. And again when I retold it to my wife. 10/10.
