Can y'all just like "hell-ban" me into a small room in the Fediverse where I can talk about Twitter and Elon in an enclosed space w/the two other people who give a fck about it and I won't bother the rest of you?

Because part of the reason I'm still there is I think not talking about what's going on there is dangerous.

Letting it go w/out speaking of it is not safe for the people still there, imho. I don't think it's good for the world. But I also know y'all are here for a reason.

Halp pls.

just put me in a room with juice box and a keyboard and give me like three months, I'll sort myself out, I promise
@chancerydaily first of all, it’s way more than 2 people. Second, I feel like an intervention might be order.

@kbiglione

To be honest, as soon as you tell me it's okay to talk about it here, I'll probably be entirely tired of speaking about it and be on to something much more legally interesting, although it's not unlikely to involve Musk, since he's in the middle of approximately on million legal situations right now.

@kbiglione

Usually I just need to say the things, then I say the things, realize I need to touch grass, then I touch grass, have said the things, and then I'm good. So, the intervention itself is usually just the witnessing of the saying, so I think your job here is pretty much done. 😂

@chancerydaily @kbiglione saying the things lets your brain check it off its todo list. Or, you can train your brain to relax after you acknowledge what it seems to be stuck on.
@chancerydaily @kbiglione Throw it behind a content warning for folks who are tired of hearing about it and please, post on! I'd love to get news on the schadenfreude of Musk's hubris without having to pay him for the privilege.

@chancerydaily Like all things it's not the addiction that kills you, it's usually the withdrawal.

Just be patient with yourself, remember the good times, then move forward and help build the better ones.

@chancerydaily sending good thoughts your way. You do what you need to get through this.

Not sure what suggestions are useful but I find that an extended (and enforced) break from something addictive does help.

@chancerydaily just one opinion, I find the legal analysis interesting and continue to even though I don't intend to spend time on that site going forward. The novelty of the situation, and the clarity of your analysis is a combination I would like to see continue!

@dnathe4th

Thank you. That will inevitably be the focus of the signal once all the noise quiets with all these insane transitions. It's at the center of everything, and of why I care so much about Musk in the first and last instance. 💓

@chancerydaily I’m listening, and I’m pretty sure there are more than two of us.

@chancerydaily as long as you're posting there you're the product. Warn who you can then run like hell! I'm much happier without it. But don't beat yourself up too much either everyone has to find what's right for them.

Theres no ethical consumption under capitalism :)

@chancerydaily FWIW I prefer you’d talk about it here than there - you drive views and retain users for him. I struggle with it myself.

I’m settling into an equilibrium of using Twitter for big announcements and mastodon for conversation and feedback.

@chancerydaily remember that we have filters here so anyone that doesn't want to hear you pontificate about Twitter can filter it out. Talk away!
@chancerydaily I’m still very interested in what you have to report about Twitter and Elon behaviour there and other companies, don’t feel too bad about it, you do an important job for everyone. It’s probably that some are still bitter because Elon broke their playground.
@chancerydaily I absolutely hate what is going on there. Elon is ruining a very important tool. I really miss the old twitter. It’s so unfortunate that he is so I’ll equipped to run a social media platform and is unaware of this fact. I’d argue that an untreated (self admitted) neurodivergent and a bipolar disorder aren’t particularly helpful to him at the moment.
@chancerydaily rant away, but consider whether using CW and/or hashtags might help both yourself in reminding you it’s a rant, and others in being able to filter.
