@detachedspork A lot of smart people are just institutionalists and take the official line at face value. The CDC said that you can stop masking as long as you are vaccinated. People who think of themselves as well-informed absorbed that information and never second guessed it. They stopped reading the research, and they stopped questioning if it really made sense.

@detachedspork I don't like getting sick. Or being compelled to become sick, for that matter. My idea of "living with COVID" requires avoiding reinfection + avoiding reinfecting others. I'm not interested in either suicide or homicide.

@detachedspork I suspect that many of them have had covid. Which, like some other parasites, appears to cause brain damage such as to change the behaviour of the host so as to favour the further spread of the parasite.
