@trunksapp I will try! iOS
@trunksapp same thing… iOS. I will wait till it’s fixed!

@grumpygrumpyowl Ah, you actually just need to put "better.boston" in that field, but you just made realize I need to support people also putting their full user[at]domain!

Thank you!

@trunksapp @grumpygrumpyowl I had the exact same source of confusion when trying out my first Mastodon app, Tusky. It seems to be a common pattern among apps that users have to stumble over once -- but then you learn from it and remember it for the next time!

However, being able to enter your full address & reducing a 2 step process to 1 would be a UX improvement! (Unless there's some security benefit to be gained by taking the username & domain separately.)

@DaleTrexel @grumpygrumpyowl There's no security benefit, I think I'll just support any feasible assumption as user might have.

So far that means supporting:
- Every permutation of a url https/www/etc
- Just the host/domain
- user @ domain

If it's transparent to the user, there's less friction (but i guess work for me)

@trunksapp A sad truth: it usually takes extra work to reduce friction!
