Belatedly, but better than never, the NY Times takes a look at Trump's "Truth" Social and -- you'll be shocked, shocked -- learns that when it comes to advertising it's slime city. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/27/technology/trump-truth-social-ads.html
On Trump’s Truth Social: Ads for Miracle Cures, Scams and Fake Merchandise

Truth Social, the social network started by former President Donald J. Trump, has struggled to attract large brands.

The New York Times

@dangillmor They only did it once it was dying anyway with him going to back to twitter and facebook.

They're not the good guys.

@dangillmor so "Truth Social...raised about $37 million" for a Mastodon fork... that is pretty impressive scam right there...
@dangillmor heres the article free of paywall if anyone wants to read: https://archive.is/JcsfN#selection-497.12-501.1 surprisingly it doesn't mention Mastodon at all

@dangillmor My favorite is The Trumpinator. But #TFG's dialogue would have to change:

Men - grown men, tears in their eyes! - come up to me on the street - in fact, it was 5th Avenue, where I could shoot someone and they'd still love me - and they tell me, "Sir, sir, please, please, would you come back to that police station?" And I tell them that if it was to kill Linda Hamilton - we loved her in Beauty and the Beast, didn't we, folks? - I would have to think twice, maybe three times, and ...

@dangillmor And you have to love the last line, where a Truth Social user complains directly to #TFG about the ads being ripoffs and says: "I've been scammed more than once." Definite candidate for low end of the Dunning Krueger scale 🤦‍♂️
