The Volatile MermaidIt never made sense to me that getting your first period is considered “exciting” but hitting menopause isn’t. It’s way more exciting to know you’ll never have to deal with this shit again than it is knowing it’s gonna be your problem for decades to come.

Personally, I look forward to the day (hopefully soon -- I can't believe that I'm going to be 56 next month, and I'm still dealing with this crap!) when I no longer feel the need to hold on to the old stained underwear that I keep in reserve for those (now) more or less random weeks. Maybe I should have a bonfire!
